The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) and Essential Screen Skills Announce Inaugural Screen Careers Expo Set to Provide a Gateway to the Screen Industry.
Gold Coast, Sunday 11th February, 2024 – The anticipation is building as AACTA and Essential Screen Skills proudly launches the inaugural Screen Careers Expo. This pioneering event is set to showcase the endless career opportunities within the dynamic world of film, television, digital media and gaming.
AACTA Awards and Industry Development Manager, Ivan Vukusic said “This expo is really a one-stop-shop for anyone with an interest in a career in screen. We will have all of the major local tertiary education and training providers on the ground as well as experts on hand to discuss and explore all components of working in our great industry. Running from 9am until 5pm on Sunday 11th February 2023, AACTA and Essential Screen Skills will welcome a number of leading educational providers and industry figures to Home of the Arts (HOTA) on the Gold Coast, where they will help interested students understand the endless career and training opportunities available in this leading industry.

The Screen Careers Expo promises to be an enlightening experience for attendees, providing them with unprecedented access to industry insights, networking opportunities and a direct line to the pulse of the Screen Industry.

The career panels will provide first-hand accounts of breaking into the industry, building a career in the online space and the future of the screen industry, while the networking opportunities will allow students to partake in touch and try workshops and technical craft explorations.

Held the day after the AACTA Awards presented by Foxtel Group, the Screen Careers Expo will form part of AACTA Festival, a four-day celebration of Australia’s vibrant screen industry. With more than 70 events, the AACTA Festival will present a dynamic array of panels, meet-and-greet, screenings and activities offering a place for the Australian screen industry to connect from February 8-11, 2024. AACTA Festival will be held at the Home of the Arts (HOTA) on the Gold Coast, a destination renowned for its beauty and vibrant cultural scene.
