Greg Sullavan will take you through his journey as a sports photographer, sharing what it’s like to capture the action, emotion, and atmosphere of live sport. His career includes shooting behind-the-scenes and game day content for the Gold Coast Titans, and working trackside with top V8 Supercar teams like PremiAir Hire Racing, Shell V-Power Racing, and Red Bull Ampol Racing (Triple Eight). While the NRL handles official on-field coverage, Greg’s focus is everything around the game — sponsor activations, fan experiences, and content crafted for social media. In this session, you’ll get an inside look at the skills, tips, and gear that help create high-impact sports imagery that grabs attention and connects fans to their favourite teams.
His session is an honest, behind-the-scenes look at what it’s really like working as a Game Day photographer with a professional sports team. Greg Sullavan will break down the realities of the role — from interpreting creative briefs and understanding what the marketing team actually needs, to the fast-paced challenge of delivering engaging content on the fly. This isn’t traditional sports photography — it’s content creation for a brand that just happens to be a sporting team. Greg will also share insights into working alongside other major media teams, including the NRL, Fox Sports, NEP, Nine Network, and News Corp, and what it takes to stand out in a crowded media space.
