Essential Screen Skills is excited to kick off our Technical Skills Teacher Professional Development on the Sunshine Coast!

Essential Screen Skills is running a professional development day designed to enhance your technical skills with workshops to increase your confidence with sound recording and editing. Limited places available.
Workshops include:
- Sound recording Tips and Tricks and Post-Production Sound Fundamentals using Adobe premiere pro with leading Screen Sound Practitioner Tfer Newsome ASSG. Get the tips and tricks to ensure your sound is balanced and ready for screenings. You must bring your own laptop with the latest Adobe Premiere Pro installed and headphones. Your laptop must be fully charged and it is advised to bring adapters for USB or USBc flash drives and your own external hard drive to copy footage and timeline from.
- Lunch will be provided. Please BYO water bottle.
Tfer Newsome (ASSG) is a highly experienced screen sound educator with over twenty years of experience helping students at all levels, from primary to PhD, effectively convey their stories through sound. She has held teaching positions at esteemed institutions such as Griffith Film School, QUT, SAE, and USQ, guiding film students who initially focused solely on visuals to explore the intricate world of sound and pursue successful careers in this field. In addition she is an award-winning sound editor for television dramas, documentaries, games, audiobooks, TikTok series, and short films. Tfer is also the co-founder of Lyrebirds Screen Sound Club. This organisation is dedicated to empowering female and non-binary sound practitioners to advance their careers in the industry.
